Method

  1. 1

Dry roast Sanmati Shingada Pith in a kadhai on low flame for 5–6 minutes until aromatic. Set aside.

  2. 2

In the same kadhai, heat ghee and add the roasted shingada pith. Roast on low flame for 8–10 minutes, stirring constantly.

  3. 3

In a separate pan, boil water and sugar to make a thin syrup. Add cardamom.

  4. 4

Gradually add the sugar syrup to the roasting pith, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

  5. 5

Keep stirring on low flame until the halwa thickens and leaves the sides of the pan. Garnish with nuts and serve warm.

Notes

  • Roast the shingada pith well for a nutty, rich flavor.
  • Stir constantly to prevent lumps and ensure smooth texture.
  • Serve warm with a dollop of ghee for an authentic taste.
